I don’t know how to explain this correctly and completely without sCREAMING, so I’ll just leave the above screen cap with this:
I have a… friend. A wonderful and thoughtful artist friend. She’s in the process of drawing something for me right now [which I very much appreciate] and has sent me two updates of the picture so far [first one was practice line work].
Her blog: http://the-nellers.tumblr.com
I encourage you all to check her tumblr out, as she is a really cool and funny bby and she’s so nice and a perf person. :D

All I say is that I think it is damned unlikely that anything like a central cosmic will, a spirit world, or an eternal survival of personality exist. They are the most preposterous and unjustified of all the guesses which can be made about the universe, and I am not enough of a hair-splitter to pretend that I don’t regard them as arrant and negligible moonshine. In theory I am an agnostic, but pending the appearance of radical evidence I must be classed, practically and provisionally, as an atheist.

Someone needs to color him in!

if the original artist is okay with it I’d love to try out that shading

Thanks for finding the original artist! I’ll add the credit right away, then I’ll see if they’ll allow it. If yes, feel free to submit the finished work to this blog! If you choose not to, which is totally fine, we’ll just reblog it.

I’m sorry to insert opinion here, but isn’t it in everyone’s best interest to not call Cthulhu?

Lovecraft’s birthday was two days ago. Today is mine.

Just FYI.

Also who else think its funny Lovie has a strawberry ice cream in my icon? His favorite was vanilla [and coffee but that is extremely hard to get outside of New England]- in fact I’m quite sure he hated strawberry! Well, he didn’t leave any hints as to what could be inside the Re-Agent formula, so it’s not like he’ll ever be alive again to complain about it.

Mythos Monday

A few days ago, I made a post asking for help with developing a weekly segment for this blog. I’d like to thank the following three people for their input:

1. catatonicfrommiskatonic: “*clap* Pumped already.  Say, what about something like this?  (You) Select a Lovecraft work, post a pic of a creature, a location, or some other aspect from the selection, tell of some background on the story, and list all/any adaptations and/or references to that particular work.

2. crankthulhu: “Maybe a weekly Lovecraft creature/species showcase? You could incorporate some of the August Derleth deities if you run out.

3. thevillainstillpursuedher: “Mythos abhorrence of the week.

**I’d also like to thank astrozombie66 and otakukeith for showing general interest and care by liking the post [it means more than you think it does, you two].

I’ve decide to do somewhat of a mix between all three ideas listed above. Every Monday [starting next Monday, I’m still ridiculously busy] I’ll pick a Lovecraftian/ Derlethian deity or general mythos [ex. think Cthulhu for deity and the Cthulhu Cult for mythos] and post art work of the creature/ mythos; relevant locations; background; potentially also inspiration [ex. Lovie has listed happenstance for the zany Arab and his wacky Necronomicon] and all relevant adaptations and references concerning the topic.

PLEASE OH PLEASE feel free to submit a “case study” you’ve done; part of one you wanted to finish, but couldn’t be bothered; or even just an idea for one I could do. As incentive, maybe the Saturday before I’ll make an open ask box post where you can just type in/ comment an idea instead of having to use the submit/ ask box.

**I’d also like to stick in a thanks to theorajones who liked that post I made earlier today concerning my recent partnership with Starbucks, as I was really nervous about how I did on the floor and coming home to see someone had taken the time to read the update and give some support with a note made me feel really good about my little nervous self.
